Governor Wavinya Ndeti's Welcome Note
Salutations to the residents of Machakos County and welcome to Machakos County, the place to be.
It is my belief that with the right leadership, Machakos County will prosper. Under the clarion call of my campaign, Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni, my vision for the people of Machakos is anchored in my Three Pillar Promise. These pillars are governed on the principles of Integrity, Transparency, Efficiency and Civic Engagement. With effective stewardship of resources generated in the County, both direct and indirect jobs will be created to support the economy and the livelihoods of Machakos residents. The aforementioned pillars include Food Security, Socio-Economic Empowerment, and Infrastructure.

Machakos County Governor, H.E Wavinya Ndeti will be commissioning the following projects on Thursday 7th November 2024, from 9am.
Nyaani dispensary in Wamunyu ward where a medical camp will be conducted. She will later visit the maternity wing at Katulani dispensary in Kibauni ward and also issue more than 1,000 title deeds to the residents. Later, she will visit Muthetheni dam and proceed on to Masii milk processing plant in Masii ward.

The Department of Lands,Housing,Urban Development and Energy,led by Hon. Nathaniel Nganga held a Management meeting to officially release the outgoing Chief Officer for Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Collins Adipo, and welcomed the new Chief Officer, Madam Maureen Maingi.
The team gave heartfelt speeches and the CECM emphasized the importance of unity within the department.
Also present were the Chief officers, Mr Koin Papaa,Simeon Kirima,Directors and the department’s staff.

Earlier today, the Chief officer for Water and Irrigation-Benedict Ngumbau held a consultative meeting with JICA(Japan International Cooperation Agency) team lead by Eng. Fukuda Yasushi and Eng. Sakamoto, for a briefing on projects rehabilitated under the organisation and their management.
JICA partnered with the Government of Kenya from 2012 to 2013, a partnership that saw drilling and equipping of 30 boreholes, which were powered with diesel engine/electricity and hand pump.
Currently, the agency is rehabilitating two projects i.e Kisiiki borehole in Ndalani and Ndua borehole in Matuu ward both in Yatta Subcounty.
Also present was Eng. Stephen Ndwiki Principal Engineer Ground water and Mr. Augustine Mboya the Managing Director for Yatta Water Company.

The 2nd Edition of Governor Wavinya Cup football tournament is proving to be one of the most attractive and competitive tournaments.
Interestingly, only one finalist from last year's Edition has progressed to the Sub-County level. Athi river Queens advanced as Mavoko youth fell 2-1 to Vetoz youth.
Mithini FC and Kitanga Queens advance from Mua/Katheka Kai ward while Scotlanders and Avengers Queens qualify from Machakos Central ward.
From Mlolongo/Syokimau ward, Syokimau FC beat SGR FC to progress together with Galacticos who saw off Syokimau Queens 1-0.Makongeni FC and Kinanie Supreme will represent Kinanie/Mathatani ward.

Today was a day of sharing the spoils at the historic Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.
Gor mahia (K'ogalo) drew 2-2 with visiting Murang'a SEAL.It seemed like a done deal by half time as K'ogalo was leading 2-0. Goals from Shariff Musa and Musa Masika made the hosts comfortable at break time.
Murang'a SEAL staged a comeback and goals from Joe Waithira and Elly Saenyi were enough to snatch a point in this away fixture.
In the early fixture, FC Talanta drew 1-1 with visitors, Kariobangi Sharks.
Tomorrow, Bidco United FC will host Mara Sugar FC at the same venue.
